Sele surf forecast

Point break in Jæren, Norway, scored hour by hour in NORDR against the wind angle for the way it faces, the swell direction it wants, and the tide it works on.

How it breaks

Sele is a right-hand point over stone and sand just north of the Figgjo rivermouth, faster and punchier than the beach breaks either side.

Getting there

Approach from Sola or Tjelta on the coast road and park above the point.

Watch out for

  • Boulders line the take-off zone and the inside.

Local detail

Best on northwest swell with easterly wind; handles more size than Bore before closing out.

Crowd

The point is now regularly crowded when it works.

Tide dependency: not the limiter

Tide is not what decides whether this break works, so NORDR does not score it as one. Fetch, swell period and the wind angle against the beach do the deciding here.
